About Monk Koukouzelis

Monk Koukouzelis lives and practices the art of mosaic, creating unique works of art in the Cell of the Nativity of the Virgin Mary, on the northeastern side of the holy peninsula of Mount Athos, within the boundaries of the Great Lavra where he resides.

He learned the art of mosaic almost 20 years ago from an Athonite monk, and then, collaborating with prominent Greek mosaicists, he cultivated and improved his mosaic technique.

He creates mainly ecclesiastical works, as well as works of art for homes and business spaces.

Currently, many of his works adorn various monasteries, churches, and even homes, both within and outside of Greece.
